Supervised by physical therapy professionals, Fit for Life is designed for adults 60 and up who want to improve their level of fitness but are unsure of what are safe, effective exercises. Gentle Yoga for Gynecological and Breast Cancer Survivors
This six-week series is intended to teach a gentle yoga practice to support overall wellness and the healing process. Each sequence will include basic principles of movement, alignment and breathing awareness.

Gynecological (GYN) Cancer Recovery Program (FREE)
This program provides compassionate care for physical, emotional and spiritual healing to women undergoing treatment for uterine, ovarian, cervical, vaginal, vulvar and peritoneal cancers. The program offers free education and support services, which are individualized and tailored to meet patients’ needs.

Aging Well
Oral Health for Seniors (FREE)
What’s the big deal about dental care? With all the medical, financial and other issues seniors have to deal with every day, is this really a priority? This lecture will cover the reasons why the need for dental care increases with age, the mouth-body link (how dental problems contribute to increased risk for heart attack, stroke, diabetes and pneumonia), dental problems seniors face and why, access to care issues for seniors, and resources for caregivers.

Management of Hearing Loss
This program is focused on how to manage hearing loss, including utilizing a hearing aid most effectively to improve communication with others. Learn how to maximize communication through lip reading, stress reduction, creative problem solving and assertiveness. A speech pathologist will instruct participants in a supportive group environment. Six sessions. Free.

The Latest in Alzheimer’s Treatment and Research

Osteoporosis ProgramConsider this: One out of four women over the age of 65 will be diagnosed with osteoporosis. Schedule an appointment at the Women’s Health Resource Center to be screened with a bone densitometry ultrasound. In addition, meet with our nurse practitioner to discuss prevention, management and treatment of osteoporosis.

Diabetes and Self-Mangement
CPMC Center for Diabetes Services
This American Diabetes Association (ADA)–recognized program provides classes and individual counseling sessions for adults and children with type 1 or type 2 diabetes. The center also offers prevention classes for those at risk for diabetes plus support groups and counseling. Staff speaks English, Tagalog, Spanish and Chinese.

Individual appointments for diabetes education. Available for those needing specific counseling (for example, insulin therapy initiation) or for those with special needs (physical limitations, non-English speaking, etc.). Diabetes — Type 2 Education: Four-Class Series (FREE)
A series of four classes for people with type 2 diabetes. The American Diabetes Association recognizes this education service as meeting the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education. This dynamic, research-based program is patient-focused and taught by our expert staff of nurses, dietitians and a clinical social worker.

Diabetes — Continuous Glucose Monitoring (FREE)
An advanced program that features real-time, continuous glucose readings. This information provides in-depth exploration of challenging glucose patterns to optimize control. Ideal for those taking insulin (both type 1 and 2), those with complicated diabetes medication regimens or individuals who experience frequent episodes of hypoglycemia (low blood glucose). During the first session, participants attend a class and are placed on the continuous glucose monitoring device (Dexcom or Guardian). One week later, the device is removed, data are downloaded, and the information is analyzed. Patients new to our center will need a 1½-hour, pre-class appointment.

Diabetes — Intensive Management Series: Two-Class Series (FREE)
An advanced insulin management program designed for people with type 1 diabetes and people who are interested in an insulin pump. Patients new to our center will need a 1½-hour, preclass appointment. Topics include carbohydrate counting, finding your insulin-to-carbohydrate ratio and adjustment of insulin to meet your target goal.
